Funding Opportunity: Greater Minnesota Volunteerism Grants

MAVA's Greater MN Volunteerism Grants

MAVA is pleased to announce that the “Volunteerism Bill” passed in the last legislative session and MAVA is now ready to offer grants to Greater MN nonprofits for innovative and strategic volunteer efforts. Many thanks to those who worked tirelessly to bring volunteer engagement funding to Greater MN.

MAVA invites Greater Minnesota non-profit organizations, working with under-served or vulnerable populations, to apply for a grant to support increased volunteerism for greater impact! The grants, made possible through funds allocated to MAVA by the Minnesota legislature, provide funds to support innovations in engaging volunteers to address or minimize disparities in access to human services.

Award amounts between $15,000 and $75,000 will be available.

WHO QUALIFIES?

To be eligible, organizations must be in Greater Minnesota (outside the seven county Twin Cities area) and serve populations which are underserved or at risk of homelessness, hunger, poverty, lack of health care, or deficits in education.

HOW WILL GRANTEES BE SELECTED?

A grant selection committee administered through MAVA will determine awardees and final distributions through a thorough application and review process. Full application, grant guidelines, and details will be available on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Organizations that leverage volunteers to expand reach to underserved communities in innovative ways will be strongly considered. Priority will be given to 1) collaborative efforts (including planning for future collaboration); 2) innovative use of funds that maximize resources; and 3) efforts that address race equity in volunteerism.
