MAVA Announces New Inclusive Volunteerism Resources and Opportunities!

Lisa Joyslin | Published on 1/9/2020

MAVA is excited to announce the release of several new inclusive volunteerism resources for volunteer engagement leaders, along with a first-time cohort learning opportunity around racial equity in volunteerism in 2020.

New Resources:

Racial Equity Resources for Volunteer Engagement Leaders features a curated list of articles, books, toolkits, podcasts, videos, and consultants to jumpstart your personal and professional work around racial equity.

MAVA is also working to compile notes and resources from each of the Do Better Together events in 2019. We currently have notes posted from the July event on Addressing Racial Bias with Volunteers. Additional notes and documents will be posted in the coming months at www.mavanetwork.org/inclusive.

New Cohort Opportunity:

MAVA is pleased to announce a new opportunity in 2020 for organizations pursuing racial equity in their volunteer programs. Nonprofit and government organizations are invited to apply to participate in a MAVA-led cohort of 5-7 volunteer engagement leaders and their teams and/or leadership. This cohort will consist of organizations working to make significant and sustainable changes to their approach to volunteerism in an effort to prioritize racial equity.

Organizations participating in the 2020 MAVA Inclusive Volunteerism Cohort will be selected through a competitive application process and will participate in the program free of charge thanks to a grant from the F.R. Bigelow Foundation.
