   Affinity Group Meetings
Wednesday, July 26: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Held in Anderson Center, West Hall, and East Hall

These pre-Summit gatherings are where you can meet colleagues from similar settings or with similar interests from throughout the country. Each will have a designated “host” who will offer some structure to help you put names with faces, make new connections, exchange wisdom, and get the most value out of this time together.

If you are interested in attending a free affinity group meeting, please indicate it when registering for the National Summit.  If you have any questions, please contact Katie Campbell at ktcampbell49@gmail.com.

Funders
Join your fellow funders for this rare opportunity to network and share your experience and opportunities to invest in building the capacity of your grantees. Conversations will focus on strategies for empowering organizations to unleash volunteer energy in support of your mission. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Healthcare Settings
Join this session if your organization is involved with health of the patient experience, including the following settings: hospital, community health, home health, clinics, rehab, long-term care, health education, spiritual care, integrative therapies, and hospice. Hosted by the California Association for Hospital and Healthcare Systems (CAHHS), MAVA, and the Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP), this highly interactive, hands on, action learning session will allow you to learn, share, take away, and quickly implement cutting edge initiatives which impact the patient experience and the health care delivery model. Attend and network with your peers, thought leaders, and subject matter experts while enjoying refreshments and light meal items during the session.

Sticking Our Necks Out: Bloggers in Our Field
Are you part of the community of bloggers, e-newsletter writers, and regular columnists who have the courage (and the words) to praise, challenge, and provoke the good and the bad in volunteer engagement? If you are already publishing your views, join Susan J. Ellis of Energize, Inc. to meet each other and discover common ground.

Government Agencies: The Times They Are A'Changin'
If you lead and manage volunteers at the local, state, or federal level of government, we want you at this session! We’ll include networking, sharing of best practices, and some educational content -- all focused on advancing volunteer engagement within the realities of governmental settings.

Service Enterprise
Join us to explore ways to take your organization’s volunteer program to the next level through the Service Enterprise change management model.  This gathering will include opportunities for certified organizations to connect with peers from across the country as well as information about the Service Enterprise process, benefits, and impact for those interested in future participation.

Volunteer Management Networks - Across the U.S.
If you are active in a local, state, or regional association of volunteer engagement professionals, this session is for you!  Hosted by AL!VE (Association for Leaders in Volunteer Engagement), the national professional association for those who manage volunteers or programs in all types of settings, you will hear a short presentation from AL!VE board members, then ask questions, network, and share refreshments with your colleagues.

Minnesota Geographic Networking Groups

One of the greatest tools you can have for your organization is a peer network. MAVA invites you to join this session to network with other Minnesota organizations who share interests, issues, and a common bond or background with your organization. Be ready to share your ideas and best practices in an informal, casual setting.

Faith-Based Organizations
If you are serving a faith community or a faith-based/faith-affiliated organization, come connect with similar colleagues at this affinity session hosted by the Minnesota Directors of Church Volunteer Ministries. All denominations and traditions are welcome!

American Red Cross
Great leaders in the 21st century look at trends  and identify ways to shape their future and not just react to it. What are we anticipating to be the next big changes in volunteering and service? How can we be proactive in addressing these trends? What current models, practices or thinking might we need to phase out or do differently so that we can achieve the greatest success? Let’s discuss and walk away with a few big ideas that could possibly transform the way we engage volunteers at American Red Cross.
