Become a MAVA Trainer

Apply to be a MAVA trainer! Choose from two opportunities below.

Volunteer Impact Leadership Training (VILT) Series Trainer

Join MAVA's peer-to-peer initiative, where leaders of volunteers present to their colleagues and facilitate conversations on the fundamentals of volunteer engagement and racial equity in volunteerism!

MAVA provides direction, training materials, tech support, and a small stipend of $100 per module!

And as a VILT trainer, you bring your passion for our field and your own stories of
- creating volunteer roles with volunteer trends and motivations in mind
- managing risk, brainstorming recruitment strategies
- recognizing your volunteers
- And evaluating and leading your program!

Not an expert in volunteer engagement? That's ok!
VILT trainers do NOT have to be experts!
Do you like to communicate ideas out loud?
Do you enjoy inspiring people?
Do you love facilitating conversations between smart people who are full of wisdom and great ideas?
Do you care deeply about spreading information and resources on engaging volunteers effectively?

We aren't actively looking for VILT trainers right now, but check out our upcoming conferences and consider submitting an RFP to present!

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Trainer

As a DEI trainer, you will facilitate MAVA’s highly interactive and engaging workshops on topics of privilege, bias, microaggressions and antiracism, along with racial equity in volunteerism. Workshops include: 

- 8 Strategies for Creating a More Inclusive Volunteer Program

- No “One Right Way:” Imagining New Systems for Volunteer Engagement

- An Introduction to Privilege, Bias and Microaggressions

- Antiracism 101
- Other topics to be developed in the future
