FINANCE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Finance Manager
Status: Contract - 20 hours per week
Salary: $30/hour
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Purpose: This position works with the contract accounting firm to manage financial duties, including bookkeeping, accounting, invoicing, financial reporting and other financial administrative tasks. The finance manager will assure that all financial practices and procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles; assets are safeguarded; guidelines of grantors and donors are complied with; and finances are managed with accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. The position also provides administrative support to staff in clerical and programmatic tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Finance and Bookkeeping Tasks
Annual tasks
- Assist with preparing and filing 1099s.
- Gather information for 990 preparations.
- Gather information for Federal and CPA audit preparation.
Tasks throughout the month
- Prepare and monitor all invoices.
- Prepare expense requests.
- Process checks and monitor online payments.
- Prepare online payments (Authorize.net) for inclusion in Quick Books
- Track individual donations and pledges
Month-end tasks
- Gather bank statements, deposit spreadsheet, authorize.net report.
- QuickBooks Data entry.
- Enter and code authorize.net activity.
- Work with accounting firm to prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries
- Work with accounting firm to manage grantee payments and monthly draw downs.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Preferred, certified CPA or related degree
- At least seven years of broad financial and operations management experience
- The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel.

- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize.
- A track record in federal and state grants management
- A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
- Ability to learn and develop new systems

Location: This position is hybrid. Staff meet in person 2 days weekly, Tuesday and Thursday.
