MAVA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

The Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and in denouncing racism, intolerance, and exclusion. MAVA is committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all board members, staff, volunteers, and members feel respected and valued regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or identity, disability, education, or any other bias. We are committed to being nondiscriminatory and providing equal opportunities for employment, volunteering, and advancement in all areas of our work. We respect the value that diverse life experiences bring to all aspects of our organization, and we strive to listen to diverse views and give them value.

MAVA recognizes that taking a stand is not enough. MAVA has been on a path in building diversity, equity, and inclusion into all our nonprofit’s operations, as well as modeling those values as we advance our mission. MAVA will continue to provide education and highlight resources so that we assist others to examine internal biases and adopt practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in their work, in their employment practices, in their board rooms, and in their communications.

The Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) board of directors are committed to actively guiding each other and our decisions to center diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism while denouncing intolerance and exclusion. 

 

The Board is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all board members, staff, volunteers, and members feel respected and valued regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or identity, ability, education, religion, or other bias. 

 

We will respect, center, and listen intentionally to diverse lived experiences as we work to grow and sustain MAVA and its impact.

 

The Board recognizes that taking a stand is not enough. We will guide, govern and support the path MAVA is on, building diversity, equity, and inclusion into all operations while modeling those values to advance MAVA’s mission.
