COVID-19 Resources for Volunteer Engagement Leaders
MAVA staff and board wish to provide support to each of you as we address challenges we face as a result of COVID-19. We are balancing health concerns with the importance of providing our members with support, connection, and resources.
As resources emerge from the volunteer engagement and nonprofit community, we will gather them here as a resource to you, our members:
Preparing Your Volunteer Program for COVID-19 (from MAVA) - also available as a PDF: MAVA: Preparing Your Volunteer Program for COVID-19
Volunteer resources for NonProfits from Handson Twin Cities (from HandsOn Twin Cities)
Volunteer Engagement within a Pandemic (from VQ Strategies Blog)
Supporting Volunteer Efforts During Coronavirus (from Energize, Inc.)
COVID-19: What Nonprofits Need to Know (from Minnesota Council of Nonprofits)
Minnesota nonprofits rework volunteering during COVID-19 (from the Star Tribune)
Employee volunteering when you can't serve in-person (from Points of Light)
Coronavirus and Volunteers: Your Guide for Managing Uncertainty (from VolunteerPro)
Why outbreaks like coronavirus spread exponentially, and how to "flatten the curve" (from the Washington Post)
In addition to these resources, MAVA created the "Volunteer Engagement COVID-19 Response Guide and Tool Kit." At the outset, MAVA saw that the COVID-19 pandemic would be challenging for all of us, including organizations that rely on volunteers to meet their mission and provide essential services to our communities. MAVA prepared this guide to help inform your efforts. By now, there are two editions available.
The COVID-19 Response Guide and Took Kit is available free to MAVA Members. Non-members may purchase the document for a nominal fee.
