Mary Quirk
Executive Director
Mary Quirk is the manager of MAVA's statewide initiatives to increase training and resources for leaders of volunteers. In this position Mary led the development of a system for delivery of best practices information that has reached over 1,000 leaders of volunteers in all regions of Minnesota and manages MAVA's new initiative to prepare organizations to engage Boomers as volunteers and on volunteerism in immigrant and refugee communities. Previously, Mary was the Director of Southeast Seniors, A Living at Home/Block Nurse Program and Little Brothers -- Friends of the Elderly. She has a master's degree from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and a master's degree from the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. She has had articles on volunteer resources leadership and nonprofit management published in Nonprofit World, e-Volunteerism, and Fieldstone Alliance Tools You Can Use.

Katie Bull
Member, Communication, and Services Manager
Katie is the full time Membership, Communications and Services Manager at MAVA. She keeps MAVA running every day, answering your phone calls and emails! Prior to MAVA, Katie served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at CommonBond Communities and as a VISTA Leader at the Minnesota Literacy Council. Katie earned her BA in English from the University of Minnesota. She has volunteered as an English teacher in the U.S. and Africa and received her Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Hamline University. Since starting at MAVA in 2008, Katie has expanded the AmeriCorps*VISTA program and been to all corners of the state to present trainings on MAVA initiatives.
