Why did you make the choice to serve a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA member?
I chose to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA because as a recent college graduate it is the best way to be active in my community and also gain some experience in my field of study.
What are you working on this year?
This year I will continue growing the Nest Project at Family Enhancement Center, which is a program that connects volunteer mentors for families that are at risk of child abuse and family trauma.
What do you hope to do in the future and how is VISTA supporting that?
I hope to learn more about my area of study and also get some hands-on experience in my field of study. I am currently serving a second term with Family Enhancement Center and VISTA has helped me in getting ready to face the world and identify my strength and weaknesses.
