MAVA’s AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full-time for one year across the state to develop, expand, or improve volunteer programming that connects Minnesotans to the resources needed to move out of poverty. We support VISTA projects in the areas of economic opportunity, education, and healthy futures.
Our members can:
- Develop or improve volunteer programs
- Expand staff or volunteer training
- Strengthen recruitment partnerships
- Enhance your organization’s volunteer engagement to better meet your mission
AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program funded by the federal government. The program offers members a modest living allowance in exchange for a year of service in low-income communities.
VISTA host sites provide onsite supervision of the VISTA member and day-to-day project management. A typical project is renewed for three years.

All new project applicants are required to attend a webinar before submitting their application. Webinar dates are December 12, January 10, 18, and 23.
