Busy and informative is always a good way to end a MAVA month. I had the opportunity to meet with several MAVA members to talk about starting our Regional Advisory Councils and to talk about the trainings that MAVA is planning to set up in Greater MN in 2018.
The Alexandria area is interested in setting up a networking group and hosting a Skills-Based training. If you would like further information about getting together with other Volunteer Coordinators to discuss training and best practices in volunteer engagement please let me know. We would like to get this networking group set up by January 1 and find a host for the April Skills-Based training event. Contact me if you're interested in getting involved. I would love to talk about our programs and help get something organized in the area. Special thank you to Holly Witt and Jan Beliveau for helping to get these ideas moving forward.
We are also planning on holding a Volunteer Impact Leadership Training Series in the Moorhead area. If your organization would like to host this event please let me know and I can go over the details with you. Though a grant, MAVA is able to pay for the cost of hosting this event as well. Please give me a call. I would love to talk to you about the great opportunity to bring the Series to NW Minnesota.
Special thank you as well to the Head of the Lakes United Way for hosting a Skills-Based workshop in October. Had a great turnout and always nice to be in Duluth in the fall.
If you or your organization is looking for training ideas or would like to be a part of our Regional Advisory Councils please contact me. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday.
