Why did you make the choice to serve a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA member?
The Americorps VISTA program is the perfect opportunity to learn about poverty’s problems and potential solutions while also getting the chance to develop professionally.
What are you working on this year?
I am working on recruiting and coordinating volunteers for a cradle-to-career education initiative that aims to close the education gap in the west metro.
What do you hope to do in the future and how is VISTA supporting that?
My goal is to go to graduate school for Urban Planning. During my service year I believe that I will make valuable connections and develop knowledge and skills about community engagement that will be incredibly useful for my future career.
