Administrators of Healthcare Volunteers
The Administrators of Healthcare Volunteers (AHV) is a network group of MAVA comprised of, and voluntarily led by, volunteer administrators from all sectors of healthcare including hospitals and clinics, long-term care facilities, hospice care, rehabilitation centers, and advocacy, support, and service organizations. AHV is committed to excellence in leadership of healthcare volunteers and offers high-quality professional development and networking opportunities.
AHV hosts professional development workshops with networking opportunities throughout the year. AHV and its members have also planned and conducted a statewide biennial conference; our last conference was held in May 2016 and our next one is slated for 2018.
||Complying with Regulatory Healthcare Requirements
Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Maple Grove Hospital or By Phone
Healthcare is a very regulated industry . . . which carries over to the volunteer program as well. This is true whether the volunteers serve in hospice, long term care, acute care, rehabilitation . . . or some other type of health care agency.
At this meeting we will be looking at important compliance issues, such as background studies, finger printing, mandatory flu shots, and annual education requirements, and learning what people are doing to comply with these requirements. A representative from the Background Studies Division of the Minnesota Department of Human Services will be with us at this meeting to provide information and answer questions about the new finger printing requirements and process.
This session is open to anyone from a healthcare setting, whether or not they are a member of AHV or MAVA. Registration is just $15 which includes morning coffee or tea and the education program.
