Wanted: Baby Boomer Volunteers
The need for volunteers is everywhere, but especially so in the northwestern corner.  That's because the area has the state's highest percentage of residents who are 75 and older and thus more likely to need help.  And the sparse population means a smaller potential volunteer force.

Volunteers help fill holes that budget cuts left in cities' staffs
MAVA's survey results were featured "...according to a new survey by the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration. Fifty-five percent of the 350 agencies and nonprofits surveyed said they relied on volunteers more than two years ago, and 30 percent reported volunteers had preserved their services." Also Mary Quirk was quoted in regards to increasing calls from government groups.
